Silkeborg Museum is housed in the oldest building in town, formerly Silkeborg Manor. Among other exhibits the highlight is the world famous Tollund Man, one of the best preserved human beings of ancient times.
We also display a comprehensive Iron Age collection, the oldest known wagon part of Northern Europe, an antique glass collection, the renowned "Sorring ceramics" and furniture interiors typical of the mid 1800s. Pay a visit to the Workers' Museum at Chr. 8 Vej No 52, a branch of Silkeborg Museum. The tiny Workers' Museum shows a worker's home and informs about working class life in Silkeborg around 1910. |
